The smoky canyon mine project is a Welded Wire Wall and ArtWeld Gabion wall constructed in October 2013 located in Caribou National Forest, Idaho (approximately 20 miles from Afton, Wyoming). The wall designer is K. Jeffrey Nelson, P.E., SHN Consulting Engineers & Geologists.

The wall designer is Kirk Cesaretti, P.E., CESaretti Engineered Solutions and the contractor for the project is Gerke Excavating Company.
